The view from the hostel was absolutely stunning, with a mesmerizing icy mountain and a sparkling sea where you can witness breathtaking sunrises. In addition, all the amenities provided were excellent, making our stay even more delightful. I must mention the friendly and helpful receptionist, Julia, who went above and beyond to assist us.
The only minor downside was that the parking area signs could be clearer. However, this did not in any way affect our overall experience at the hostel.

It was so close to Hali city center. Free Wi-Fi was available too. We go there often, and recommend it to anyone...

We stayed at Skyrhusid for 5 nights during our road trip along the ring road. The check-in and out process was incredibly smooth, and we were impressed with the fully equipped kitchen and the complimentary coffee, tea, and milk provided. The facilities were spotlessly clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the hand basin in our room and the large, well-maintained shared bathrooms. The location, just off Highway 1, was convenient, and having two restaurants adjacent to the hotel was a bonus. The hosts were the highlight of our stay - they were warm, welcoming, and fascinating to chat with. We loved the sense of community in the kitchen, where we could socialize with other guests while cooking and relaxing. Our kids had a great time on the swings and see-saw in the hotel's outdoor area. The proximity to Diamond Beach and the glacier made it an ideal base for exploring, and we appreciated the top tip to visit the glacier on two different days to see the varying ice formations.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The hostel was in a great location for exploring popular tourist attractions, particularly Jökulsárlón and Diamond Beach. The room was spacious enough and the beds were comfortable. The hostel provided free Skyr yogurt, which was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they sent us an email prior to our arrival with all the necessary information.
The dining area was small and felt crowded with just four people. There could have been more parking space available, especially considering the unpredictable snowy weather in the area.

the staff at Skyrhusid Hi was incredibly friendly and even baked cookies for the guests. the rooms were basic but had a charming simplicity to them. the owner was welcoming and even provided an extra heater for our room, although it was already cozy enough. the location was great, as it was close to the shore and offered beautiful mountain views. the owner also surprised us with a delicious homemade cake to enjoy, along with free yogurts and fruit juice.

This place was the perfect stopover for our weekend trip along the South Coast. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean, and the shared bathrooms were well-maintained. We also appreciated the coffee, yogurt, and orange juice provided in the morning, it was a nice touch. The best thing about this place was the peacefulness - even though the guesthouse was full, we didn't hear any noise overnight.
The only downside is that the kitchen could have been a bit larger. It was relatively small, so if you plan on cooking elaborate meals, you might have to adjust your expectations.

The location of this guesthouse was perfect for visiting Jokulsarlon Ice Lagoon and exploring the beautiful surroundings. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with a cozy bed and ample space for luggage. The shared bathrooms were always clean and never crowded. the friendly receptionist was always ready for a chat, making the stay feel warm and welcoming.
The check-in process could be frustrating, as the bell to ring for staff assistance was broken. This meant waiting for over 40 minutes before someone attended to us.

The location of this guesthouse was fantastic for my Christmas vacation. It was conveniently close to all the attractions and activities I wanted to visit, such as the Diamond Beach and the meeting place for the Ice Cave tour. The nearby restaurant was excellent and offered delicious meals. Additionally, I appreciated the amenities provided, such as the juice, tea, and complimentary breakfast.
I found the shower to be a little old-fashioned. The design did not clearly separate the wet and dry areas, resulting in water spilling out onto the bathroom floor.

I had a wonderful stay at Skyrhusid Hi. The guesthouse was charming and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. I especially loved the well-equipped kitchen area, where I could cook my own meals. The complimentary skyr and milk in the fridge were a nice touch. The location was also great, being close to the glacier lakes. I highly recommend this guesthouse.
